What a weekend!
I made it!!! We had a great Birthday weekend for Z. Friday night was 'just us' - filled up the birthday boy with Domino's Pizza (yuk!) and had a quiet evening to prepare for the party Saturday night.
I was whipped into a cooking frenzy Saturday, making everything from scratch, sausage rolls, little quiches, beef kebabs, chicken pizza, chocolate ice cream cake, vanilla cake with "WOW" in yellow lettering (my son is a World Of Warcraft addict!).
We entertained the teenage pyro's with some 'class one' fireworks (ones you don't need a permit for) - the rest of the time they spent entertaining themselves which was nice. We invited his two oldest friends (both he's been friends with for 10 - 14 years!) and their parents, my Mum and step father and my brother - which made a nice group - not too many, not too few.
One family stayed the night, which was really nice - we met when the eldest boys were two - and don't see each often which makes each get together special. All of the boys went to bed at around 1.30am (even the old boys) - so my dear friend Myra and I sat up and did a few readings (mine was all about work.......goody!), talked and talked and talked, drank our milo and finally finished up at 2.30am!
