I just popped in on the other computer and found a reply from the BIG BIG boss, he's actually a part owner of our company.
He thanked me for my letter (he must be a fast reader, there were 6 A4 pages!).
He said my issues have definitely been noted, and he will investigate and hopes to reply to me by Wednesday.
The tone of the email was quite reassuring and nice. He is truly a lovely man, we met at the Hamilton Island trip.
How can she possibly deny 6 whole pages of complaints - she won't - she's so up herself she will try and justify what she's said - and make things worse.....if she reacts predictably.....
We'll see!

Sent it 15 minutes ago.....

Should be in bed
what the hell I am going to get done if I'm tired
just can't stop my mind from running like a freight train
She's going to Sydney tomorrow
that could be good.....
Or not
Who knows
Trying to think what my advice would be to someone else in the same situation.....go to bed would be a start....
I forwarded todays reply from her to PB
He rang earlier and went off his head
Having had a few beers to celebrate the Launny Cup and all didn't help!
He said that email is absolute proof of her contemptuous attitude towards me,
and he reckons she's shot herself in the foot with that reply.
I mean seriously all she had to say was "I haven't had a chance to reply, I have been in Hobart but will reply to your questions as soon as possible"
Not a big rant about how she told me this and told me that, so condescending and basically a rude mole.
Right, going to bed now.
Can relax my mind while she's up there,
I hope head office have had complaints about her from Hobart this week after she went down there, and they shred her contract right there and then.
Then I'll chuck a party,

And finally the long awaited reply....
no actually a big lecture on how I knew she was going to Hobart blah blah blah
and that if I needed "HELP" that she'd said I could RING her on her mobile....
Uh duh - I asked for CONFIRMATION IN WRITING
So that does not include PHONE CALLS
oh and she will "address my email in due course".
So if she wasn't checking emails whilst in Hobart why then did my household update HAVE to be in BY 5pm yesterday????
If someone can explain that to me, I'm all friggen ears....
The time it took to write that reply she could have answered my questions....
*sigh* *sigh* *sigh*
I can see I am going to be fighting and fighting and fighting for a long time,
and for what - just to be treated fairly??? What a friggen joke.

CRUNCH TIME
Met with the almighty.
Great - just friggen great.
I have had to call an emergency meeting with my team later this afternoon to remove between 1000 and 1500 households EACH from their areas.
Yes, I'm all in for getting our coverage right,
but I am NOT into being continually put down and told that I'm not doing the work I'm supposed to be doing - and "If you don't want to do it, I will and you won't get paid." What the hell??
The main reaction has been, if we can't get the people in to cover the area how can she.
And if she can, why isn't she helping us by doing so.
The axe is swinging as far as her role goes, I SERIOUSLY hope it swings down her way.
I'm livid.
Not only that, she was crapping on that much Z16 was late for school (he starts at 10.50am Monday, I told her I HAVE to leave at 10.30am no later). He went to school without his tablet (for ADD) and without his phone.
I have been begging the Universe to get rid of her,
not working so far.

The Dam Bursts

Went out for a nice dinner to the Casino last night with my brother and his little girl, PB and his children.
The kids had a ball!
They were very pumped, I took Small Man and PB's kids to pick Z16 up from work, and to get an ice cream.
They were all quite hyper and in good spirits.
PB and kids came back here and we were entertained by guitar hero and some animated conversation.
Small Man was having a great night, conversation turned to the Big A, and his karate training.
Someone bought up how he was practising one day and Small Man walked straight into one of his kicks.
At the time Big A was terribly upset. It was an accident. Small Man seems to feel that Big A wasn't sorry about it. It was 5 - 6 years ago.
Z16 and Bradley (PB's son) were laughing about it, Small Man became very angry.
They kept laughing, mostly because Small Man was glaring at Big A - giving him 'the death stare' as they called it.
One thing led to another and Small Man burst into tears.
Poor little man, he was so enraged and sad.
Big A tried to talk to him and he wouldn't respond and just got madder.
I left him, as is always best when he's in a rage, he will talk when he calms down.
PB tried to talk to him and he wouldn't say much - except that it wasn't Dad that he was upset about.
PB and kids left, we had a chat outside and PB reminded Big A just what Small Man has been through over the last two years, and the last week especially.
And that as he hasn't reacted much yet it may be a good thing, for him to get it all out. Sometimes when you're this close you can forget what it's like for him on a daily basis - which Big A does.
Big A went to try and talk to him again, gently and carefully - still not much response just a lot of tears.
He finally came to me, which I knew he would, and let me comfort him.
He said "It's just that I'm dealing with so much Mum"
I know.
Oh boy don't I know.
He's better today.
I'm not really - overwhelmed, over stressed, sick of fighting, sick of waiting.
Tomorrow's another day.
Thank heavens for terrific friends that come and ignore my grotty floor,
and friends that point things out that go over better when they say them!

Somewhat Accomplished

Feeling like I have achieved a bit today,
I was knee deep in Medicare forms and other 'forms' that needed filling out,
felt good to get these posted.
Small Man still hasn't been to school.
I'm not too worried yet,
whilst he has been coping with yet another set back quite well,
he is also exhausted physically and emotionally.
Going with the flow there.
I finished my audits today - phew.
Had some good chats with SD's about their areas too and have a few worries sorted, and a few options opened for change.
Change has to be done very carefully, and tactfully, or it doesn't go over well.
I learnt very early on that 'making' or 'forcing' change serves little other purpose than to upset and anger people.
I doubt that other people will ever learn that!
Z16 is sound asleep, yes, a 16 year old boy asleep on a Friday night at 6pm!
I think he's finding school a bit stressful, but he's not saying much yet - I'm just giving him the opportunity as often as I can.
The weather is a bit rough, was absolutely POURING with rain earlier = so the tuna-a-cue is now sweet and sour tuna...for two!
Big A has gone to training (karate) - he was feeling guilty as he hasn't been this week. Can't do it all I reckon!
The guy on the Godfreys ad has the BIGGEST comb over i have ever seen, what's with that??? (random comment!)
Best be off start and tuna cooking + two other meals for boys yet to be determined.....
George can smell the tuna in the sink, he's going OFF!

...tomorrow's a new day

So isn't that a relief...
Still feel wooden and drained of emotion tonight.
Pleased though today I managed:
To ring grandma and tell her we are going with the paediatrician's wishes,
to ring the Paediatrician's rooms and bring appointment forward to the 3rd March (from 11th March)
speak to a SD for 15-20mins on audits and the Almighty...
ring Small Man's teacher and fill her in on the happenings (hadn't spoken to her yet),
speak to another SD for nearly an hour on work/kids and life in general,
sort out a missing carton - via a phone call, text message to another SD and email to her majesty,
endure a phone call from her majesty - the Almighty giver of shit,
Call the paediatricians rooms back and leave a message for him to call me if he gets any info before we go for our appointment,
reply to a few messages re: yesterdays disaster,
pick Z16 up on time, get petrol/bread etc
reply to a few msgs re: the Almighty and her undoing,
blog,
read everyone elses blogs,
a few scrabble turns...
try and keep calm when not so calm Big A gets home and tried to fix monitor, unsuccessfully
cook tea and start to dish up when mother out law rings and wants the details of yesterday - and then cracks the shits when I'm not all happy to be talking to her at that point, when her son is in one hell of a mood and then can't find margarine for his jacket potato,
eat tea - with a churning gut and bad nerves.....always fun.....
while Big A then gets worked up about Small Man and school etc
more msg's from an AM (not one of mine) discussing the visit he had today from...guess who.....
go and watch t.v. with Small Man for 15mins
go back out to the shop to get the things I forgot/couldn't be stuffed getting today,
and MARGARINE.....wouldn't want to forget that now! HA!
A few more msgs re: yesterday and other stuff
a few scrabble turns...
and that's about it,

Not what I expected, but what I knew

I have had a strange feeling all week there would be disappointment today................
O.k.
Just got home.
Arrived at appointment to find they had not received referral from paediatrician. Secretary rings paed secretary - she will ring back in 5 mins.
She rings back, and puts me on the phone to paed who says he has made enquiries and isn't happy with what he heard about surgeon, and so refusues to give a referral.
Surgeon won't see us without referral (legal thing)....
So I ring our GP's rooms, and organise a referral - I wanted to see this guy for myself - Small Man was in a state, I thought if we go back with nothing he will be devastated.
So we see the surgeon, he was fine, quite good.
Explained everything, from the procedure to the risks.
We talked for a while.
I tell him why paed won't give referral,
he was o.k. with it.
But to see him I have to have a referral from a paed, and a psychological assessment to be sure Small Man is mentally mature enough.
No problem with that, but would have to go back to Hobart to see them tho, and may have to wait.
I don't mind waiting, but having thought about it I don't want to go against my paed's advice - if something went wrong I'd never forgive myself.
My paed will however, refer me to the Melbourne Childrens hospital,
which I have had in my mind anyway "I'll end up taking him to Melbourne for this".
It's not like deciding which mechanic to take your car to, and I have decided to put my faith in my paed - who saw Z16 as a 5 week old baby.
He may be older, but he's a father of 8 himself, and I trust him.
Small Man and I talked it out all the way home, and he is at peace with it all now, as I pointed out we've waited this long, a little longer won't hurt.
Big A reacted much the same way, but then is thinking on the same lines as me. When he said it seems to be two steps forward two back I suggested he think about how this is affecting Small Man, and how it feels for him. Which he has.
So anyway, the rollercoaster continues - I will go and see our paed, and go from there.
There are a lot of questions though regarding follow up treatment that I have and will need good answers for - I mean what the hell happens if something goes wrong when I bring him back??Who will look after him??
The positive from this is that at least he hasn't been denied for any reason.
AND he hasn't gained ANY weight in the last month!!!!
Oh and I got whistled at today for the first time in a while!!! Ha ha ha!
Small Man was highly amused!!! Probably some rough neck who'd come down from the mountain and hadn't seen a woman in years but still....!
I did dress up for the first time in a while....he he he!
And I got to see Grandma and Pop, Grandma actually came to the appointment with us.....she's so cool!

~**One More Sleep**~
Only one more sleep until we go to the surgeon in Hobart.......
I'm nervous about:
Driving/finding my way around
What the surgeon's going to say....yes/no
How Small Man's going to cope with the trip
How Z16 is going to get home tomorrow night
If the surgeon agrees, how long will we have to wait
Just the usual really......!
I'm no good at this
I have so much to do, but can't focus.....
As far as certain people that want to come around here and annoy the crap out of me on Friday go - they can wait til next week. I'm not running a coffee lounge. She only wants to repeat, over and over, the crap she had to say on the phone the other day. Tough. Not up for her games at present.

Cuteness!!!
We had a lovely afternoon.....Z16 went to work......
Small Man and I went to my brothers house,
to see his dear little girl Bethany and wish her a Happy 4th Birthday,
we missed her actual birthday which was the weekend the out laws were here.
Bethany is now staying overnight,
and will be for the next three Saturdays in a row!
Sounds like Mum has a taste for it now!
It's great news for us though!
We had a great time playing with his other gorgeous baby Oscar - a mischievous and EXTREMELY adorable Birman kitten (same as my George, only he's a blue point, and George is a seal point),
Things got really interesting when my brother let his pet cockatoo out of it's cage! Baby Birmans have no business trying to stalk cockatoos! Oscars was crouching, behind Small Mans legs at one stage, trying to figure out how he could catch Cocky........hilarious!
We took my brothers car for a spin, Bethany in tow....
When we got in the car, she asked me in all seriousness - "Aunty Gina, do you know how to drive?"
So cute!
Gee I have no idea - my brother sent me to the bottle shop - with $15 - to get some beer. I knew what sort, but had no idea how many you might buy for $15 - so just handed it over to the bottle shop man and asked for as many beers as I could get for $15!
The answer is 6 - in case you were wondering!
We grabbed KFC - tsk tsk - oh well, it's not like we do it often.
A cheap shout with Big A away, and Z16 at work!
I ran a bath for Bethany, and we had a lovely chat whilst she was bathing - and washing feet but not the 'sore bit' (a graze on her foot)......
Ringlets secured on top of head so as not to get hair wet (as per Mums instructions).......during which she looked up at me, with my brothers eyes and said - "Aunty Gina, I'm going to miss you tonight when you go".....
I'm going to be looking forward to the next few weekends!

ZZZZ...What?...

This is ridiculous....
Fatigue....
The 'must sleep now' sort...
Not conducive to a productive day.......but without rest there may be many more unproductive days.....
I can't stand it.....
Doesn't usually last this long.......
**********************
Small Man made it to school, not just for the whole day yesterday, but TODAY TOO!
Awesome effort indeed!!!
Z16 crashed at 4.30pm for and hour - but he's not tired!
His catch cry as a little hyper fellah "Never tired, never sleep" - and they don't much when they're hyper!!!
Big A has gone tuna fishing for the weekend, so may get some extra rest in - not that he's a lot of work, but he has more traditional ideas on what time things should be done - he doesn't thin vacuuming at midnight is that cool - I reckon do it when you feel like it, as long as no-one's trying to sleep!
Eat when you're hungry, sleep when you're tired.
I have been like that since the day I was born apparently - I don't need a clock telling me it's 'tea time'.
Z16 is much the same.
Having Big A on day shift, and cooking tea at the same time every day, and eating it cos you may as well since you cooked it probably hasn't helped my metabolism or my weight.
Big A won't be back on shift 'for a while' - they annoy the crap out of me with their changes - they reckon it would be the end of February 'for sure'.....I don't care but they should just make up their minds and stick to it (and stop getting my hopes up!).
*********************************
Thinking of everyone - yes you!!!
But especially Michelle......

Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day.......Since these are the only flowers I'm likely to see today I thought I'd share them with you all!
Valentines Day isn't something we've ever 'done'
In some ways I'm glad really
A few people struggling with it today,
mostly PK friend and colleague,
He lost his wife to cancer two years ago tomorrow,
Valentines Day was a day PK looked forward to - he was always buying his wife flowers, but especially on Valentines Day.....
He has still ordered some, and will take them out to the cemetary.....
I can't imagine how he must be feeling......
Valentines Day today, the Anniversary of her death tomorrow......
He will be in my thoughts for sure.
*~*
It is very quiet here this morning......
Small Man has gone to school....
he was a nervous wreck.....
a good dose of Rescue Remedy, and then a friend waiting to meet him (which he wasn't expecting) helped soothe the nerves all round.....
Z16 said as we pulled away from the school "God he's cute isn't he Mum"....
he sure is......
and brave today......but he's done it........and I'm very proud that he's tried........
Z16 has his first day of VET (vocational course) - he's doing Information Technology, it's a 1 year certificate course in being a nerd! He he!
He would think that was very amusing!
Gorgeous nerd he is.......
Big A had a 'bad' afternoon yesterday, all a bit technical but he made a mistake without realising it, it's all good now it was just one of those things - but he was rattled for sure "sick in the guts" was his description.
He is so diligent and switched on (handy for a sparky!) usually, so would be beating himself up more than anyone else could.
He received a letter the other day to say that his 'Capstone test' (the test he needs to do so he's qualified) is in March - OMG - that'll be a stressful lead up I just know it. And then it will be done, and he'll have his ticket - assuming he will pass which he said not many people do first time.
Considering he was top of his class at TAFE (studying for five - six hours per night after school will get you that result!),
Has won Apprentice Of The Year out of all electrician AND all of the fitter & turner apprentices working where he does every year - I think he'll be fine!
I am glowing with pride,
for Big A - and his ambition and courage to take on an apprenticeship at his age, and do so well,
for Z16 - for what he has overcome, to get where he is now
for Small Man - for the journey he has faced over the last two years, and the journey ahead of him, and finding the strength within to try.......
~*~
So now I am whirlwinding through this house washing/dishwasher/dryer (I know, it's cheating but I have a bit to catch up on!) and then I may give myself permission to hit the op-shop!
Have a good day all,
don't forget it's just another day,
and tomorrow is another one,

******SIGH********

Well she's back....
And don't I know it.......
I've been pissed off twice, from her sheer hide and stupidity.....
Long story short - she wants me to 'give' some of my households to someone that wants to come over from another company 'and bring their team'........
If you ask me that's what you get for working for said 'other company' - should've come to us first.....
Also - what's in it for me?
What would I gain from this?
Nothing.....
I'm not running a freakin charity - it's a business........
She was in one of her frantic/desperate moods and trying to sound as nice as possible, whilst taking taking taking taking from me - AGAIN....
Not going to happen.
I delivered the 'good' news to her this morning,
so hard emailing her because what I WANT to say and what is actually said are two different things......
not that I give a shit what she says, just don't want to disclose too much just yet........
What I really wanted to say was -
NO WAY, WHY SHOULD I, NOT MY PROBLEM, I have been ripped off enough in the last few years!
Stop asking me about Small Man - you don't actually care so piss off with the false sincerity - it's not fooling me....
Keep the contact to a minimum, it's not wanted and not needed.....
Oh and I hear Guantanamo Bay is hiring, go for it - I'll even write ya a reference...
That's all from me,
despite being slightly aggravated, I'm not majorly stressing over this one...

Tummy aches and old clothes
No bootay shots yet (is that how you spell it?)......Rather ordinary afternoon.....
One more thing off my 'foods I can eat list' - eggs.
Or should I say on an empty stomach.
First it was coffee a year ago,
I was a 6 cup a day caffeine-a-holic - now I can only handle less than a quarter of a teaspoon in milo.......
then it was almonds......
now eggs........(on an empty stomach)......which may turn into 'at all'....
so spent from 4.30pm until 7pm in bed with a MAJOR belly ache........and felt totally crap when I got up......not as bad as the almond episode, not as nauseous as after coffee.....and I'd run out of 'Donnatabs'
it's getting that way I'm too scared to eat anything.........
sook sook, whinge whinge.......
No wonder I work myself into the ground when I'm having a 'good' day - it's rare.
Random thought last night.........I have only bought myself ONE brand new item of clothing - from an actual shop - in 12 months.....orphan I am!
I did buy two tops before Christmas, wore one once and the straps broke, so I took both of them back!
The rest has been from the op-shop or eBay.......
Big A just doesn't realise how much money I save us!!!!
I suppose one does have to actually go to shops in order to purchase clothing!!!
Ha ha!
I'm happy wearing my old stuff, it's not like I go anywhere, or am out to impress anyone. Plus I'm not happy with how I look in anything so don't bother.
I have polo tops for work, which are RED and I look very crap in them because red doesn't suit me, but at least they look a bit professional-ified.
Oh well,
suppose I'd better try and sleep.....and get out of this annoying cycle!

But then...
I have so much in front of me with Small Man,
I don't know how much fight I have left.
Do I just keep the information as an ace up my sleeve, for a rainy day.
I dunno - I'm just tired at the moment.
Sick of fighting for, and with, everything.
I'm passive by nature, I don't like arguments or nastiness - even with slappers like HER.
So many appointments and stuff to get through in the next few weeks,
and at the same time DREADING her return on Monday, I'm just dreading it - and so are a few other managers possibly more - she keeps us separated as much as she can so that we won't put 2 + 2 together or discuss 'things'.....look what happened when we did
I dunno
Will have some vitamin B and think about it, or perhaps try not to for a few hours!!
Love to all,

What to do
I have been discussing recent events with friends just to get some ideas on what to do. The main opinion coming back so far is that even the way SHE has spoken to me on many occasions in the past has been harassment in itself, let alone the lies and excessive extra work, and the lack of information/support/willingness to answer my questions properly or at all, the amazing disappearance of paperwork relating to my team and so on.
One of my friends husband is a manager with a big company here, and has a human resources manager that he is going to ask advice from for me.
The tricky area is that I'm not an 'employee' (none of us are, except the office staff in Sydney) I have a contract and receive commission.
Whilst none of this has come as any surprise, I just can't believe the sort of person I'm dealing with - I mean, what the hell!!!!?????
Anyway,
that's where I am today.
I WAS having a good day yesterday, I made an appointment to see the school social worker - she is going to co-ordinate new teacher/grade leader etc AND apply for exemption of fees due to exceptional circumstances - I'm so relieved.

So Freakin Pissed - but not surprised....
So, my suspicions have been confirmedThat bitch (the Almighty) has been creating work exclusively for me
Lots of it
All of those 12 week reviews that I sweated over - that I was told I wasn't going to get paid 'because they were late' (one was late, because I needed something clarified and she took a week to reply to my email, deliberately it's obvious now)
The running around she had me doing the week before Christmas to get one or two damaged items from my team "because all accounts have to be back to zero before xmas"
and the whole lot of it was LIES, LIES and yet more LIES
so what to do with this information.........?
Big A said "Why don't you say something to her"
Nah - that'd be too easy, and give her a chance to cover her tracks
I'm going for maximum impact
I just haven't figured out exactly how
Whatever it is, it'll be good...and she'll be very sorry she ever fu*%ed with me
I'm not vengeful by nature, but push and push and push me to my limit and perhaps I can be capable of anything
I have to laugh, after ALL of this effort she's put into forcing me to quit....it hasn't worked HA HA HA!!!
I think if you're going to lie be fu*%ing good at it - or don't bother
And NEVER underestimate your opponent - what, did she think I wouldn't find out - yer right!
No matter what I do, as I have said many times, she has her karma to deal with - and it ain't looking good

And another random post!!!
| You Are A Fig Tree |
![]() You are very independent and strong minded. A hard worker when you want to be, you play hard too. You are honest and loyal. You hate contradiction or arguments. You love life, and you live for your friends, children, and animals. A great sense of humor, artistic talent, and intelligence are all gifts you possess. |
| What Gina Means |
![]() You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life. You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone. Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. |
What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?
This is almost right, aside from the jealousy thing, and the aggressive/confident/authoritative 'type A' personality - aside from that it's pretty much spot on!

School....what to do....how to get there!

Back to school next week.
I'm partly organised, have ordered Z16's books, posted off the 'pay by installments' form that the college is kind enough to offer, nothing to get as far as uniform goes.
It's the transport that's the worry at the moment, we are not public transport aware, Z16 has caught the bus to town with friends before, but only to school once in primary school - I was ill with a virus and couldn't drive him -
I panicked thinking 'what if I put him on the wrong bus?' 'what if he's ended up in town?' one of those sort of motherly panics one has when running a 40 degree fever!
Naturally he was fine!
I'm just not sure how the times will co-ordinate with Small Man, realistically Small Man won't be going to school in the morning for a little while, maybe just for the first day or two *sigh*.....that's just the way it is.
Anyway I have emailed MTT to ask for their help in co-ordinating a bus to and from school if we need it.
I have also given Doubleday a serve - anyone else a member?
Them and their bloody editors choice.
I told them to never ever send it to me, if I want it I'll order it.
So last week I receive the editors choice, which I returned, unopened. They then send a letter to say that I will still be charged for postage - because I didn't decline the offer.
That was it!
I emailed them and said I am far too busy to be sending letters out or logging into their website simply to specify that I DON'T want something, and if that was the case they can cancel my membership.
I received a very polite email to say the postage has been waived and I am permanently removed from editors choice.
I do feel bad for the poor lady that has to reply to complaints, and it was only $7.95 after all, but it was the principal.
I guess I'm just sick of being taken advantage of!
While I was on a roll I registered for the Medicare safety net, as there will be some expenses coming up in that department soon. Anyone with high medical expenses should do the same, early January better as it's for the calendar year. You can submit it online...easy!
So all that's left to do is to approach the High School re: Small Man. I may be putting it off slightly! I'm good at doing that. I think I'll start with the social worker and go from there *sigh*.
Physio has been canceled for today, we were meant to go at 4pm....so I'm going to try Mum's physio this afternoon, treadmill, pocket gym (a stretchy band thing you use for resistance exercises) and some hand weights....
The Biggest Loser starting back again has given him a glimmer of motivation, but then all the motivation in the world doesn't help chronic fatigue/fatty liver etc
Lots of boring stuff to say today!!!
Better go and make some of this stuff happen!

Tight!

More mother in law tales.....I must blog out my frustrations!!!
First she admits to spending $110 per pair of trousers, because she refuses to buy 'cheap crap' any more.
Then proceeds to stock up on Homebrand peanuts for her party guests......
There were 7 bottles of wine left over from the party, a few beers and a few mixer cans of scotch and coke, bourbon and coke etc.
She packed up all except one bottle of wine and two mixers.....and took them to Hobart (I did comment to Big A that she'd have knocked a few off on the trip down - he he he!).
On the way however, they returned the party lights and glasses they hired so they could "make sure they get their $20 deposit back" - these are people that have more money than most of us will see in our lifetime.
Maybe that's why, because they are so scummy!!! There isn't an ounce of give in either of them - oh well, it's their karma.
We see them once a year at the most, it's not like we are rocking up there for a meal once a week, they never have our boys (can't think why!) and have never once supported us in any way. Which may be a good thing, at least we don't owe them anything.
I had planned a sleep in this morning, but the phone rang at 8.30am - I didn't get to it in time, so it will want to have been important! Rest is certainly the only key to helping my rib heal....and it's just not happening.
I am enjoying my nice, still fairly tidy house.
If I wasn't resting I may even vacum today - again - crikeys!

p.s. Toni....!
Big A said THEY thought the fish platter at Mortys was "disgusting commercial fish" or something equally as rude - *sigh* - and didn't touch the salad.....STARVE THEN I RECKON!!!!
Not once did she ask me how I was or if I was o.k.
She tried to tell me the night before the party I could drive people back to their hotels - LIKE HELL!!!
more later,

See Ya, Bye, don't rush back!!!!

They're gone!
Big A is asleep, as is Small Man - with a cat each!
The party went well, and apparently they were 'very happy' with the caterer, food etc.
That's what they said anyway, and we'd usually hear all about it if they weren't.
What a weekend.....
No, it was nothing like his fathers 60th Birthday where mother and sister were both drunk, started on about rubbish from years and years ago, eventually dragging me into it and I ended up very upset and even 'gave it' to his sister. I was probably more upset that she put me in a position of giving 'it' to her (and I did, without raising my voice or swearing (and I DO swear, too much sometimes - there is a level they place themselves on that I will not stoop to even in anger).
I think they were mindful of these events this time.
The focus was on monster in laws mother, "Nan Q" who didn't come, without a good reason, the party was held over here so that she could come from Hobart.
Since Nan Q was the one that started the line of mothers favoring one child, then one grandchild, and treating your husband like a slave etc I really don't care - she has a lot to answer to.
I am just not myself when they are here, and feel like a stranger in my own home. I just sit back and let them do what they like, they are so ritualistic and OCD - actually in my whole life I have never seen anything like it. And they can't see they have issues. Big A's father has become like it from years of training. It's ridiculous.
Everything has a pathetic routine, o.k. for example - he HAS to go to bed when she does, and it's whenever she decides....we then trot off into the bedroom with a glass each, the door shuts....door opens one goes into bathroom, then goes back in the bedroom and the other goes into bathroom, then back into the bedroom and the door shuts again. Then it opens again, and one goes back into the bathroom, then the other. And it's precisely the same every night. that's just for starters.
Big A's father is not allowed to burp, laugh too loud, have too much sauce on his sausages, have more beer than she thinks is enough......and on it goes.......WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS MAN? Tell her to shut the f*ck up - I'll have as much sauce as I want!!!!!
She said "I'll never know how you too make it in time to catch a plane or anything you're so 'oh well she'll be right" I said Yeah, but we're not catching a plane today, so what's the rush?
More later...phone's ringing.......!

Made It!

I made the deadline.
Pretty much everything I needed to have done before they arrived was done!
Big A told me I've done a 'marvelous job' of the house, which was nice.
I didn't get to bed until 2am!
I've pretty much cleaned every surface of the house, walls, cupboards the works.
A few little things still not done, our wardrobe looks like a rummage sale, but hey no-one will know but me/us!
At least Small Mans room (where they're sleeping) and the bathroom are near on spotless.
These are the most OCD people I have ever met in my life, their house looks like a hospital, so much so that you WANT to find a fingerprint, cobweb, something - but you never do.
Who could be bothered trying to keep a place like that?! Maybe I'm not fussy enough!!!
So they're off to the bottle shop - what a surprise. All will be well until they start on the grog.
This is exactly why Big A married me, I don't drink much and I'm not fussy!!!!
And I put the boys first, before anything or anyone, him included.
Sometimes he gets a bit jealous, because he has never know that sort of unconditional love from his parents - but I have enough for him too. So does my mum - she 'mothers' him lots, and he loves it.
Rib is feeling slightly better today - but I dread having to sneeze. I admit I was getting worried yesterday at the limited amount of use/movement I had in my left arm, but that has improved a bit too.
Love to all,
G
