Made It!

I made the deadline.
Pretty much everything I needed to have done before they arrived was done!
Big A told me I've done a 'marvelous job' of the house, which was nice.
I didn't get to bed until 2am!
I've pretty much cleaned every surface of the house, walls, cupboards the works.
A few little things still not done, our wardrobe looks like a rummage sale, but hey no-one will know but me/us!
At least Small Mans room (where they're sleeping) and the bathroom are near on spotless.

These are the most OCD people I have ever met in my life, their house looks like a hospital, so much so that you WANT to find a fingerprint, cobweb, something - but you never do.
Who could be bothered trying to keep a place like that?! Maybe I'm not fussy enough!!!

So they're off to the bottle shop - what a surprise. All will be well until they start on the grog.

This is exactly why Big A married me, I don't drink much and I'm not fussy!!!!
And I put the boys first, before anything or anyone, him included.
Sometimes he gets a bit jealous, because he has never know that sort of unconditional love from his parents - but I have enough for him too. So does my mum - she 'mothers' him lots, and he loves it.

Rib is feeling slightly better today - but I dread having to sneeze. I admit I was getting worried yesterday at the limited amount of use/movement I had in my left arm, but that has improved a bit too.

Love to all,

G

Blergh, crappy MoFo In-Laws. Tell em to fudge off and come and visit me. Knobby, rude people they are.

Hopefully they will drink themselves to sleep by 7.30pm everynight. A little bit of sleeping tablet in their drinks will help that along a bit......

Have a good time anyway at the Party, just ignore them and huddle in your own little group. You, Big A, PB and your boys. Glare at anyone who tries to talk to you. Or start talking weird, elusive fungal diseases that will make them not want to shower in your bathroom for the duration of their stay.

All Very Helpful Suggestions I feel.

You hit the nail on the head when you wrote "house" rather than "home", G... Who would want to live somewhere like that?

And I bet Big A loves you for all your qualities, not just the ones you mentioned. If you weren't fussy, then you wouldn't have chosen him, or care about your boys the way that you do..

The party and visit have been better than I expected, phew!
No real dramas, but everyone seems to be making more of an effort to keep things calm.

The rib has been much worse, I'll go and get it checked, but I think they'll just advise "rest"...it's got me stumped, it's seems really easily aggravated I thought it should be feeling better by now...?!

P.s. Toni - I did exactly what you suggested, minus the diseases and glaring looks, but stuck with my Mum, boys, Paul and non-horrid family members! And I hadn't even read your comment yet!

Thanks Cyndy!

They've gone now - yay!
They tried to change us out of our relaxed attitude but it won't work, Big A has decided our way is the better option - and way better for the blood pressure!
