Nag, Nag Continually and Ye Shall Receive...eventually....

Well I got mad and frustrated for the gazillionth time today....

So I called the Paed - AGAIN - and got the good secretary (the nice one, that knows me, knows Small Man).

Dr J himself called me back ten minutes later to say that the Xenical is ready to go with the hospital pharmacy - I can pick it up tomorrow.

I'd like to say YAY,
but all I can manage at the moment is 'bout friggen time'.....

Small Man's reaction was equally non-plussed.....
I hope he hasn't given up.....
I hope he wants to give it a go......
I hope....
I hope to hell it works......

Tania ~ Thank you so much :)

'Chelle ~ 'Xenical works by blocking lipase enzymes in the body that convert fat into fat tissue. Xenical can prevent one third of all fat intake to go undigested. The undigested fat is then flushed naturally from the body....Xenical is different from other weight loss drugs as it does not act in the brain or central nervous system to suppress appetite or speed up metabolism (this was important for Small Man, not to have something that acts on the brain). It actually works in your digestive system to stop the absorption of one third of the fat in your food into your bloodstream. '
I pinched this from a website on xenical - as it explains it best :)

You wait until the weight starts to fall off and he gets some energy and see's an improvment. He will go great guns from then. No wonder he is feeling pretty non-commital at the moment, but once it begins to work it will be huge.

Toni ~ I hope so...he came back from Melbourne SO keen and SO committed - but that was three months ago now...I will go and pick this up today, and take him to get some groceries (he needs relatively low fat which we are doing pretty much, even though it removes the fat he eats it can give you a few side effects if you eat too much fat)...

It's hard enough raising kids - but when the people you trust to help are part of the problem, it really gets tough.

Lou ~ very true. I've had more than my share of experience with this unfortunately. The hospital pharmacy were 'meant to contact me' to let me know the prescription was ready...yeah right...if I hadn't called the doc yesterday I'd be still waiting..

Hospitals and pharmacies - you'd think it was all about them!!

I'm not a big fan of the medical community.
But then I say to self "you take a human and make her/him into a doctor but - they're still human, apt to make mistakes, be forgetful and think only of themselves."

The pharmacy may have 'forgotten' to call you, but you can bet they didn't forget to book lunch at the country club and pay their green fees on time.

What can you do huh?

Jayne ~ Thank you! xx

Warriorwoman ~ True, it doesn't make things easier. Dr Matt on the other hand replied to my emailed yesterday within 3 hours - I'd emailed to let him know we'd received the Xenical and my plan for it. He was stoked!
