Today was better.
I actually got through the work morning and didn't feel too bad.
I crashed this afternoon but the heat has been testing us all.
This thing is living up to it's unpredictability.
I finally got my appointment with 'The Professor'.
17th Feb - 7.15pm - an unusual time.....
I was thrilled to have found a friend on facebook that I haven't had contact with regularly for ages.
We met when we were 16 and shared the trials and tribulations of being 16 and not living at home, and a whole lotta mischief in between.
Actually I ended up living with her family for some time and learnt SO much about gratitude, and the things most of us take for granted (like hot running water for example).
This shaped me - a lot.
They had nothing and yet still found enough to feed one extra.
I gave them a heap of furniture when I left, they were so grateful - I still feel like nothing would be enough to repay them.
We looked quite similar back then - everyone though we were sisters.
I liked that - we were the only girls in our families - she has four brothers, I have one (technically).
She was with me the night I went into labour with Z17.
We went and ate pizza in town (Big A was at work) - we joked that the spicy pizza would bring on the baby - ha ha!
She braved her fear of hospitals to be with me when I miscarried.
And she stayed all day.
I still quote her mum regularly.
What a crackup.
We lost touch quite a few years ago - she had things going on in her life, breakdown of a relationship and moved out of town for a while.
So now we are back in touch.
And she is living close by.
I will be happy if we can stay in touch ~ even just to catch up sometimes.

That sounds like a really lovely friendship, great that you've found each other again :)
Good friends are damned valuable. Cherish your friend.
I had a friend like that in high school. She came and lived with us for a while and her parents didn't even notice...
Glad you are back in contact. Sometimes people from our past are important to remind us how far we have come.
Good friends are rare and a treasure.
