I was sitting in the car park at Hungry Jacks last week, after dropping Z17 off to work and was waiting for one of my ladies.
Two young girls were sitting in their car straight opposite me.
They finished their HJ's and sat there for a few minutes giggling and tooting the horn occasionally just be be annoying.
The next thing they wind down the passenger window and proceed to drop two HJ's paper bags full of rubbish onto the ground next to their car.
They then sit there a few minutes longer before driving off.
I was livid!!!
I took the registration number, make/model/colour of the car.
Don't people realise someone has to come along and pick that up?
Namely the young people that are actually getting off their arses and working,
this is the first job they have in the morning - to pick up all of the rubbish that slack, lazy, thoughtless idiots have dumped overnight.
I remember hearing about 'dob in a litterbug' so after much googling found a link, and emailed the correct contact.
They have replied with a form for me to fill out and submit electronically.
The only catch is that I have to agree to go to court if the need should arise, and sign an affidavit - which is fine, but court????
I haven't submitted the form yet.
Would you??
I would actually prefer to make them pick up rubbish for the council for a day/morning/whatever than a fine - that doesn't teach them much - lazy little cows.
The thing that got me the most is that there is a rubbish bin less than ten metres away.
Grrr!

God, that's so thoughtless.
I think it's pretty unlikely it would go to court. Wouldn't that only be if they contested the fine? I'm not sure, but there's a witness, so I know I'd just pay it if it were me.
Do you get to remain anonymous? That could be awkward.
However, if they know at any time someone could be watching them littering and they can still get caught, I imagine that would teach them a bit of a lesson. At least in future they might be more careful.
Good luck with the decision.
Some times I think many of our youngsters are way too spoiled. My parents would have tanned my hide for that, and they would have found out about it too. There is no excuse for that kind of arrogant laziness.
Yes, I would.
Realistically no one is going to make you (or the rubbish dropping twerps) go to court over it.
Just for them to be contacted regarding it might be enough to at least make them think about what they are doing!
Man, Would I go to court ? I would probably get too nervous. Yet, these girls need to be taught it is unacceptable.
Eric is right. We don't challenge our kids enough to have manners & social mores, & I've heard a lot of parents say "what is the point of arguing, as they (the teenagers) will do what they want anyway..." A cop-out..... I thought that it was part of our job as parents to establish boundaries & rules...
I am a real rubbish nazi: that's why our car always has bag or 7 of rubbish in it.....
My poor aunt was driving along in the car with me one day. She threw her empty soft drink can out of the window on a public highway. I pulled over then made her go back & get it.
I usually draw attention to the culprits when they do it in a rather public & embarassing way..
It is always terribly hard to make a stand, isn't it.
;o)
That there was taught by someone.
I would be physically ill if I dropped something like that on the ground.
Bravo for standing up to it. Someone needs to teach them.
Yep,I'd go to court in a heartbeat!
I would - if it was me. But it's not - it's you and you have to do what you think is best for you. What I WOULD do though is find a nice, friendly policeman and talk this thing over with him. And maybe he could watch out for that car and the young *ladies* (I so want to say something else) within.
Hi G.
It may not eventuate to a court sitting but YES, I would.
Go for it. You are justified and you are sending a message to other like minded ferals.
The little shits will be very afraid for a long time and they will mouth off to their friends thinking they are tough BUT maybe some friends will stop and think themselves.
there is not a lot of pride in some people.
I'm a bit of a litter policeman myself,Cyndy. Good for you...

Jacqui ~ I had another look and it goes to court if they don't pay the fine...
Eric S ~ Mine too! But then I would never have done it.....
Kristy ~ Hello! It was their attitude that pissed me off the most - so hopefully it will make them think twice next time....
Widdle Shamrock ~ Yes, that's kinda where I am with it - I have had enough 'drama' and wonder if this could be inviting more...
Cyndy ~ So glad I'm not the only one!!! I'd rather drive around with a whole lot of lolly wrappers shoved in that hole in the door (well that's what it's for isn't it? ha ha!) than dump it somewhere...I couldn't do it. It is hard to make a stand....
Dr Cason ~ True 'Monkey see, monkey do' - I agree I simply couldn't do what they did....
Jayne ~ I would....but I wouldn't...it seems unlikely that I would have to, but my name and address not being anonymous...hmm...could be inviting drama I don't need....
Lou ~ That's a good idea. At the moment I'm dealing with the council, but I think they won't keep my details anonymous...hmmm...
D.A. ~ I'm waiting to hear back from the council guy with a few questions I asked about anonymity/how often these things go to court etc - it would be just their style to deny it - wish I'd taken a photo now
