So....

Sorry I didn't get to replying to everyone's comments on my last post - thank you guys :)

My cardiologist appointment went well.

He is a lovely man, Indian or Indonesian, just like the gastroenterologist (?spell ha ha!).

He wants to try a few different things.

Next step is a stress echo cardiogram (where you run like a hamster on a treadmill and get your heart rate recorded).
The next will be multiple holter monitors (a 24 hour monitor that you wear).
I can't remember the next thing.....
The last option will be putting some sort of wire loop thing into my chest under the skin for 12 months that monitors or something.
Hopefully the first few options will give him the info he needs - the wire is around $4000 - EEEK!

He didn't say a thing about my smoking.
That doesn't mean I don't want to have a go at giving up later in the year (after Z17's birthday would be best).
I think he wants me to stay as I am for the monitoring.

He also didn't bag me out when I told him I have ADD.
I have had doctors virtually roll their eyes when I have told them this before.
Clearly they don't have it, nor do they have a child with it, or a close friend.
This guy was really nice, he said it was great that have sought treatment for the ADD and managed so well for the last ten years since my diagnosis.
I haven't written much about this before - but here it is :)
I do take medication that could be putting my heart rate up a bit - if I ever have to go off it it will be an extremely hard decision, because of the difference it makes to my life, especially as far as work is concerned.

At least I have someone that hasn't written me off in the first appointment, AND he had a gown for me to wear during the examination.
The last cardiologist I saw (once) didn't - and he had a student doctor there.
For a female seeing a cardio it's quite embarrassing, especially when you have a 38DD bust, and feel grossly overweight to begin with.

So we covered everything and I go back for the stress test on the 15th May.

So we'll see :)

It does all sound good, G.

You can keep finding different dates that would be more suitable for giving up the ciggies. There is never a "right" time, except when you are ready. And you know that you need to be.

*hugs* ;0)

I can't believe they wouldn't have provided a gown - at least one that opened in the front, like a robe, so he could do his exam, but you would also have some coverage. I hope they get to the bottom of this soon! It's always good to know *something* definitive.

Cyndy ~ I haven't even entertained the idea of giving up - until a few months ago. I'm not one of the types that is always giving up and not succeeding!
My thought then was if everything was going so well with work (aka no stress from the Almighty any more) I would give up early next year. The thought of seeing a cardiologist has kicked it up to a bit earlier, but not before Z17's b'day with the in laws coming over.....EEEEK!!

Evil Twins Wife ~ I'm so glad I got a gown this time. My last experience put me right off - for ten years actually :) It was worse having the medical student there last time too.....horrid!

Jayne ~ Yes, hopefully will get to the bottom of it all - and a simple solution would be good! :)

Wow. 38 Double Dee's. I like to spell it out. It allows one to linger on the thought longer.

I hope they get to the bottom of whatever it is that's going on. and soon.

Be better, Babe. <3
