A New Day

Much more positive this morning.

Despite being woken up by an extreme cramp in my calf muscle - man I hate that!!!

I had to 'push the button' last night on the monitor.
It was a weird thing - my heart went all fluttery and was 'buzzing' - like a really strong vibration or something for about 5 minutes or so...like I said WEIRD.
Any experience like that - or if I had one of my 'heart attacks' (as I call them) calls for a push of the button.
No sign or any of the usual warnings of one of my 'heart attacks'.

Actually the last time I was very close to having one was when I had the contrast dye for the CT scan in March.
At that time I though 'Well, I'm in the best place for them to catch it on a monitor'.
The cardiologist asked me if I could try and get to the hospital, or the GP next time it happened.
I honestly couldn't let it go on that long.
Even though he got my heart rate up to 185 beat per minute on the treadmill it felt nothing like what happens during an episode.

I am just a bit overwhelmed at the moment.
Small Man is in year 9 at school.
We have been sent home the NAPLAN testing for me to administer (it's a national test that all grade 5, 7 and 9 students complete here in Aus).
There are three sections to the test - each with two parts that take about 45 minutes per part.
We have only managed one so far.
He's getting stressed.
I'm getting stressed.
It has to be done strictly to the criteria, timed and so on.

I have tried to reassure him it's not the end of the world if he doesn't know an answer or gets something wrong.
We only get a few days to get it all done.
I just feel so drained, and don't feel I have the energy to encourage him properly.
I'll just have to find it won't I !

I may even pull the pin and ask my ladies to come here to collect their orders this week, so that I can be here to supervise him.
I'm trying to 'do it all' and not doing very well.
Yesterday it all caught up a bit.

I'm just going to have a wash down, wash my hair over the sink and she'll be right today.

It's the hair that's the issue.

I have two crowns, my hair is really fine, I sleep fairly rough - and so it has to be washed every day - I am not kidding I have had to wash it every day for years - nothing can be done with it otherwise.
Two crowns make it difficult to tie back - it sticks up everywhere at the crown (s).
If I wet it it goes sort of greasy looking and looks like crap.

So anyway - I better go and make a start on some of this stuff - I need to be back at the hospital at 1.30pm - and have banking to do, parcels to collect, an order to pack (maybe later on that one), tests to administer, stats to send.............bah!!!

Hi how are you?

I was looking through your blog and found it interesting and wanted to leave you a comment.

I have an invitation for you to come and visit my art blog here in San Diego Southern California.

I started this blog in an attempt at finding a creative way to find new friends, and explore my artistic skills through bloging.

I hope to see you soon :)

Yep..bah...sums it up nicely. Can you get your ladies to pick up their own orders all the time? Wouldn't that save you a lot of time and energy?

Michelle ~ It would save me some time and energy, but it does get me out of the house...cos sometimes I have to really force myself to get 'out there' these days.
Also they don't earn heaps and heaps out of it, and some live a fair distance away, so I like to make sure it's worth it for them.
I have messaged them all and they are happy to come today :)

Hope you manage to get your ladies to collect their deliveries and have a little bit more time for yourself.
Good luck to Small Man for the NAPLAN test - don't worry about it, it's a load of bollocks as it really doesn't show the best achievements of each person - some kids have been known to randomly answer anything due to the pressure and panic the test puts on them.

Jayne ~ Thank you :) We got through it...phew!
Z17 got in the top 5% in the state when he did the test in grade 5....now that was a while ago now!

I have a double crown and fine oily hair! I SO relate. Thanks, G., I don't feel so alone in my wild hair depressed state anymore. :D x♥

Two crowns eh? Two my kids have two crowns and a cowlick in the front. One grows her hair long so she can tie it back, the other shaves his head. Otherwise they both go nuts with short hair.
Hope your heart is okay.

Natalie ~ So pleased (sorta) that it's not just me :) Two crowns, does that make us royalty??? He he he!!!

River ~ Wow! Neither of mine inherited the dreaded double. Shaving my head has felt like a good idea some days....but I'm keeping it long until I look too old for it :)

Lou ~ Phew...*big sigh* I'm trying I really am. Thank you my friend :)
