The dietitians appointment went well.
We saw a different lady this time, that helped.
Small Man spoke with her really well, I barely had to say a word this time.
After discussing his current diet etc for around 30 minutes the dietitian summed up with:
"I won't need to see you again until after you've been to Melbourne, I have nothing to suggest - you obviously know what you're doing"
WOW!
That was such a nice feeling.
I have spent the last few days chasing up doctors, distance education and teachers (for Z16).
Still no news on the trip to Melbourne...*sigh*....or on the distance ed......*sigh*.....
....but the good news is that Z16 is doing really, really well at college.
His preliminary term 1 report arrived (two weeks ago but dopey (me) didn't see it cos it was stuck in the envelope - der!).
He has achieved a fairly equal number of 'Very Good' - 'Excellent' and 'Good' results so far, and only a few 'Satisfactory'.
I am thrilled to bits!
I also emailed his main 'teacher' or care person/VET program supervisor.
I filled him in on the ADD side of things a bit.
Z16 didn't want it included in his VET book - as he takes the book to work placement and anyone could read it - or categorise him - or assume. It is not exactly something that may create a medical emergency, like diabetes or epilepsy - so we have chosen not to disclose at this stage.
I still felt his teacher needed to know.
He replied to my initial email, where I said that I'd found Z16's report and apologised for not contacting him sooner.
He said that Z16 is doing well and is very polite and respectful toward him - and he appreciated that, and that he is up to date with his work (!!). He also said that he sometimes 'wastes time on the internet' - no great shock there.
No reply to the ADD info email as yet.
I have also been buying unsuitable mothers day cards for the MIL - then going and buying another and actually sending it - since the funny one would have been 'offensive' - so instead I bought one with a poxy old flower on it - bugger it!!!.
Hard to pick something out that isn't all "great, wonderful, loving mother' and all of that crap.
I hate it if I have to buy her card.
I used to make Big A write on it -
A: because I felt like the worlds biggest hypocrite
B: If it were my son living in another state I would LOVE to receive a card with his handwriting on it - especially if I didn't get to see him often
C: Ummm - she's not MY mother.....thank god.
Followed by Birthday cards that someone was meant to do last week (hint - not me!).
Followed by an audit last night with one SD - another one today - 500 emails - at least 8 phone calls - call backs to my catalogues dropped but not left out Monday (READ THE TAG PEOPLE!!!) - so patient - ha ha!
Really, when I'm in front of them (customers that forget to leave books out), or training a new distributor I'm all "Oh no that's oooohhhhkkkaaayyy (big smile)" but seriously, tonight I'm a bit buggered and out of patience!
I seem to be doing three times more work than I used to - and sales were down this week to add insult to injury.
Ah well, ya get that.
In the big jobs.
Ha ha ha ha!!
This was followed by picking up Z16 from town and bringing him home, getting his work clothes ready a trip to the supermarket, take Z16 to work......cook tea for Small Man...heat something up for Big A (has the flu full on now)....just the usual day here.
Not good on five hours sleep though.

What wonderful news re: dietician. I am taking Celtic Dingo to doctor tomorrow. I think we may need to address the diet.
I took Boo to a dietitian when we thought he was Coeliac. And he has a milk allergy.
She suggested corn flakes, rye bread and yogurt.
I would love to find a good one!
Hi widdleshamrock and kelley,
In all seriousness, your own research can be the best help available, if you are confident to do this.
You can then adapt it to your childs needs/tastes (or lack thereof!).
In all this time I have been mostly self guided, for a long time I just didn't realise there was a 'problem' with my boys, mostly beacause they lived in the environment I created for them.
I wasn't trying to bury my head - I just thought all kids were like this with food and behaviours...!
The one useful thing I did get 'back then' was to give Small Man sustagen.
Also to avoid a combination of preservative and colour numbers (I can't remeber what the numbers are, 211, 212? and ..?) it's been a few years now! This was for Z16 and his hyperactivity.
Those divided plates were awesome too (Z16 couldn't have his food 'touching' on the plate).
And always remeber to keep offering them things, even though you will get turned down 99% of the time.
And where possible letting you help prepare food even if it's just getting carrots out of the bag that sort of thing - in hindsight Small Man should have been doing more of this - it is often what it felt like in his hand that made the difference.
I guess that is part of desensitizing, which I could have done if I'd known more at the time.
