Alkaline vs Acidic

Well I have been doing some research into acidity (in my quest to ensure I avoid another 'attack' of gout).

I found some interesting articles on acidity and alkalinity.

If you feel out of 'balance' this article makes a lot of sense.

It includes a list of health issues which can be attributed to acidosis (from eating a diet that's too acidic).
Gout isn't on the list but kidney stones are (often caused by a build up of uric acid too).

There are other more comprehensive lists I found showing high alkaline/alkaline/low alkaline then high acidic/acidic/low acidic - but this one is a good start.

Just thought I'd share this one with you all ;-)

Interesting stuff. I took down that offensive 100 words. I am sorry. It was over the top.

If you can stand it, drinking a glass of water with a heaped teaspoon of bi carb in it is a wonderful alkaliser for your body. Every day I mean....

Also, Barley Grass has an alkalizing effect on the body too.

The American seer Edgar Cayce wrote of the acid/alkaline diet. I don't know how much you'd get if you googled it, I remember reading a lot about it before I got a computer.

'Chelle - I'll try the bi carb, haven't tried barley grass - saw that was on the list too
