Quite possibly THE quietest Christmas Day EVER....actually EVER in the myst house....
Christmas Eve at Mum and SF's turned out to be quite a good night, Big A was the entertainment and had everyone in fits of laughter
SF and his sister had quite the atmosphere between them, which I ignored completely.
She arrived over an hour late and her husband was quite upset (as in teary) which is unlike him, he's actually a really nice guy, friendly, usually happy.....
SF was good to me, Big A and the boys which was all that mattered
Maybe he realises that he is running short of allies...?!
The urge to drown him in a bucket didn't come up at all.....
It was quite late when we arrived home - after 1am I think.
Christmas morning was quiet.
The boys ended up back in bed for a while
That gave Big A and I the morning/early afternoon together
We finally got to eat our BBQ'd scallops and prawns at midday (cos Big A was too busy with his you beaut new remote control that replaces all other remote controls and needed programming).
We planned tea for around 4pm - because Big A had to go into work on night shift.
Mum and SF arrived at 3pm and had a game of Buzz on the ps3 with Big A and Possum.
We ate our turkey (one of those big arsed turkey buffe things, boneless) and roast veggies (spuds, pumpkin, sweet potato and carrots), peas and gravy at 4.15pm....followed by either caramel cheesecake, fruit salad, ripple cake and trifle that Mum bought.
Just us.
No extras this year - not even my brother who had to work day shift (he and Big A work at the same place and do 12 hour shifts)....
Usually I have a house FULL - and spend 2 - 3 days cooking, all day in the kitchen xmas day, trying to find enough chairs for everyone, joining up tables.......then a week cleaning up after.
This year has been pretty trying, busy and stressful for many different reasons.
It was nice to have a quiet one. - and for the boys to have their Grandma all to themselves for a few hours....
Actually I am glad, it would have been even harder for Big A to go into work if there was a lot happening here.
Mum and SF left at 5.30pm - Big A left at 6pm.......the boys and I had a very quiet evening....
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I had a struggle thinking of something to ask Santa for - once again this year my wish is the same, and it's nothing that can be wrapped up (think Small Man).....but I did find some clothes I liked in the end and they're great.....even a maxi dress....THAT FITS!! Woohoo!
So that was my Xmas.....how was yours???

Mine was disappointing for so many reasons. At least Caitlin visited us on Christmas Eve. :)
